We believe that confidentiality is of the utmost importance to the trust and development of the counselling relationship.
Information shared with your counsellor will be protected.
Information will only be shared in the counsellor's clinical supervision and identities will be withheld.
The only time confidentiality will not be adhered to is for
the following reasons:
-The law requires disclosure
-The counsellor feels there is a danger of serious harm to the client or
others (this is viewed as a protective strategy but where possible will
be discussed with the client beforehand)
-By agreement with the client
Therefore if none of the above apply your identity will remain anonymous from anyone other than the member of staff that assessed you initially (usually the counselling coordinator) and the counsellor that you are attending sessions with.
